How the Drive Clean Rebate Works for Dealers

Dealers are responsible for applying for the Drive Clean Rebate on behalf of the customer purchasing an electric vehicle. Once your dealership is enrolled in the Drive Clean Rebate Program, processing a rebate is an easy online process.

1) Reduce purchace price by the rebate amount at the point of sale. Up to $2,000 off. 2) Submit your rebate application online. 3) Receive your rebate payment from NYSERDA by mail or electronically.

  • Drive Clean Rebates are only available to New York State residents, businesses, and government entities
  • Stay up to date on the list of Drive Clean Rebate eligible cars and rebate amounts, which range from $500 to $2,000
  • Both purchases and leases of at least 36 months are eligible
  • Dealers must submit rebate applications online within 60 days of vehicle delivery

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) offers federal income tax credits of up to $7,500 for the purchase of eligible new EVs, and $4,000 for used EVs.
