Federal Update: Request for Information on Medium- and Heavy-Duty Charging Infrastructure Needs

On September 12, the Federal Highway Administration and Joint Office of Energy and Transportation issued a request for information (RFI) seeking public comments regarding medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) electric charging technologies and infrastructure needs Link opens in new window - close new window to return to this page.. Specifically, the RFI is seeking input on unique EV charger and station needs, vehicle charging patterns, MHD EV charger technology and standardization, and workforce, supply chain, and manufacturing to support charging of MHD battery EVs. Section 30C (Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Credit)

Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant, Round 2

The second round of CFI applications are open, with a historic amount of $1.3 billion in funding available for EV charging and alternative-fueling infrastructure. This opportunity is open to local governments, as well as private entities if partnered with a local government. Applications are due before August 28, 2024.
