Climate Justice Fellowship Programs

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking applications for both the Climate Justice Fellowship Plus and Climate Justice Fellowship Programs.

NYSERDA, with support from U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of New York's 14th congressional district, is pleased to announce The Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program is now available and is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. The Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program is a $3 million pilot program to advance climate justice in the Bronx and Queens.

BronxWorks, a multi-service organization and settlement house, will provide case management services to fellows enrolled in the Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program.

Regions Served Serves all of New York State. Serves the New York City Boroughs of the Bronx and Queens.
Organization Type Accepts applications from community-based organizations, university, municipality, climate tech innovator/start-up, venture development organizations, tribal nations, clean energy business or a firm dedicated to advancing climate justice and clean energy priorities in disadvantaged communities. Accepts application from non-profit organizations.
Fellow Eligibility Requires that a Fellow be a resident of New York State and a member of a Priority Population as defined by NYSERDA. Fellowship Supports Provides $3,000 for the Fellow to utilize on professional development and/or supportive services throughout the Program. Provides $8,000 for the Fellow to utilize on professional development and/or supportive services throughout the Program.
Program Length One year program Two year program
Salary and Subsidies Provides $37,000 of wage subsidies. Employer cost share is not required, but welcomed. Provides $79,170 of wage subsidies. Employer cost share of $39,585 over the two-year period is required.
