Solar for All Eligibility

 
Apply Today
  • Are a homeowner or renter
  • Pay your own electric utility bill
  • Meet income eligibility requirements (see below)
  • Are located in a service territory that pays the System Benefits Charge (Long Island residents and those receiving electricity from a municipal utility are not eligible)
  • Have used a minimum of 1,000 kWh over your last twelve months of electric bills.

Income eligibility is based on your household monthly and annual income. Refer to the table below to see if you qualify:

*The current income guidelines for Solar for All are set at 60% of the state median income.

Demonstrating Income Eligibility

The application will require documentation of your income eligibility. Participants can demonstrate income eligibility through two options:

Option 1

Provide a copy of an entire award letter dated within the last 12 months for one of the following:

  • EmPower+
  • HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program)
  • SNAP (Food Stamps)
  • TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
  • Supplemental Security Income
  • Utility assistance

Option 2

Only if you cannot provide the documents requested in option 1, please provide the following income documentation as it applies:

  • Completed Household Eligibility Worksheet [PDF]
  • Social Security and Social Security Disability: copy of award letter
  • Documentation of all forms of income including disability, worker’s compensation, unemployment, pension, maintenance, child support, annuities, Veteran’s benefits, tax forms and all other income
  • Self-Employment: IRS Report of Quarterly earnings for the last three months
