Community Adder
NYSERDA offers an additional upfront incentive for eligible community solar projects located in the Central Hudson, Con Edison, National Grid, NYSEG, Orange & Rockland, and Rochester Gas & Electric service territories. The Community Adder is available for a limited number of MW for projects that were developed after a utility’s Market Transition Credit and Community Credit were fully allocated. Details on the Community Adder, including application criteria and eligibility, are included in the NY-Sun Program Manual. Adder rates and availability are dependent on the project's utility service territory. Projects in the PSEG-Long Island service territory are not eligible for the NY-Sun Community Adder.
Community Adder availability is shown below. The dashboards indicate the percentage of MW that have been submitted to that block. The dashboards are updated as applications are submitted.
Upstate Community Adder Tranche 2
Upstate Community Adder tranche 2 has been fully allocated and is closed. This represents the full allocation of the Upstate Community Adder capacity authorized by the Public Service Commission in their May 2022 Order as part of NY-Sun’s expansion to target 10 Gigawatts (GW) by 2030.
Con Edison Community Adder Tranche 1
The incentive rate for the first tranche of the Con Edison Community Adder is $0.20 per Watt. Additional tranches and incentive rates may be announced in the future as funding in Tranche 1 reaches full allocation.
